RoadRunner USB Joystick V3.0 Released

[Updated to 3.1]
added more buttons

What does this do ?

It allows you to control RoadRunner via a usb joystick/gamepad

Whats the point of Joypad 3.0 then ?

I hacked up a usb gamepad and soldered the buttons to me audio stork in the car, which now allows be to control the volume / tracks from the steering wheel

Version 3 ?

Yeah. they have been a couple of version releases before but this has been beta tested quite alot and I'm very happy with it now. It should also work with gamepads it didnt do before.

How do I use it ?
Plug in your gamepad, start the application up and select your game pad from the drop down menu, then click SAVE. It will then connect to your joypad which you can then use to control RoadRunner, just alter the standard RoadRunner commands to suit.

Where do I get it from ?
Its attached below. If your not a member of these forums then you will need to join. It costs nothing :-)

Please let me know what you all think.

Good job man!
This release works perfectly with my joypad, I never have been able to get it working with the previous ones.

Thank you CdR!!!

Simple curiosity: any chance to get the sources?

hey all,

im trying to get my steering wheel controls to work with Roadrunner with freedom skin.
im using the swc software

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=25690
and lazarus usb to gameport idea

http://www.digital-car.co.uk/forum/s...ead.php?t=4907

which work great i can control the volume and track select etc when using winamp using keyboard shortcuts, so i thought i was sorted and it would work in Roadrunner but i was wrong lol.

Is there anyway to get it working inside roadrunner ????????

Lee

PS sorry to cross post just wanted to give you as much info as possible

I'm not yet up to speed on Bus management and CarPC software, but I would guess that if you can interface ibuscomm to roadrunner, then you can use this app to trigger roadrunner to send ibus commands via ibuscomm ..

I don't know how you'd be able to handle the return messages though. A lot of ibus outgoing commands require some form of ACK even though it's not mentioned in many of the documents on the web.

WARNING! newbie

I still have alot to learn about computers so hopefully i use the right words here...

My basic question.. is there a way to have local setting instead of all global? What i would like to do is have right advance to the next track while im playing a cd or MP3 but have right go to the next preset when the radio is on.

Also is there a way to have this program load as soon as roadrunner does?

Hopefully that makes sense cause like i said i'm still learning.

Thanks
Dingo
