Question Some questions using FD

Hi I have been using mapmonkey for a while now, but want to move over to FD. In just playing around with the program I haven't been able to find how to move the map around. Can this be done, like in MM? drag and drop the map to see other areas?

Also, how to select a point on the map to "route" to, ala MM again.

Thanks for the help. Sorry if these questons have been asked before. I couldn't find any...

Cheers
Jamie

you can do it with the full map button on the left upper corner.

If you want it at any time, you have two options :

first :change your skin (Spaghetti's one as exemple)

second : simply edit your skin.ini. You need

#TOUCHMENU 0-off 1-on
touchmenu =0

and define an area for a menu button

b1=0,0,650,50,menu1

for me it's not a real button but the non clickable area where i display time, date, info...

In most skins the map area is also a big button that loads a menu when touched

When you go to full screen the “hand/finger” button will turn off the map acting as a button and you can now drag the map around by holding down on the map and dragging it

Setting the touch menu to off (touchmenu =0) will stop the map acting as a big menu button but you will have to then add a button to launch the first menu

#TOUCHMENU 0-off 1-on
touchmenu =0

The 2nd part of your question:

You can click anywhere on the map and a Destinator menu will popup giving you the choice to “Navigate To” the position you touched on the map.

This only works when you either have touchmenu =0 or have turned off the map/button using the “hand/finger” button that is only available when at full screen

It is a bit hard to explain but have a play and it will become clearer

OK I now have another couple questions.

1. Can I mute winamp when FD says directions?

2. How do I show my current speed on screen?

Cheers

You can search the forum for things like winamp. It is best to do a search first before you post your question.

Go to the main forum page and do a search for winamp you will see some posts that cover this question.

Change your skin to the default skin that came with FD 1.0 preview, it had a speed display and so do some other skins.

If you are asking how can I add a speed display to your skin post a screen dump of your screen and attach the skin.ini (you will have to rename it to skin.txt) and I will help you

OK thanks again. I did do the search, but came to the conclusion that FD automatically reduces the volume. But mine didn't. Hmm, might have to look at the .ini file.

As for the speed display, I am using CdRs RAD road runner skin. Not sure how this affects FD, but it looks like it doesn't show speed, for now. Really have only tried FD as an embedded aplication, not on its own, thats why I haven't noticed.
