Cdr, this release is working well with my Windows Mobile 6 device.. It does appear to hang on the initial launch after a reboot but once I restart freefone it works fine!

One request for any future versions you may have in the pipeline (if its possible) is to let freefone be aware of system hibernate.. at the moment I have FF embedded into RoadRunner and after hibernate I need to relaunch the Freefone section to allow it to redetect the device... it would be great if FF automatically tried to re-communicate with the phone after waking from standby / hibernate.

Great job on this so far!!

in my N70 it is hibernating and connecting OK.. probably it is your bluetooth dongle or your drivers.. I was using a csr dongle and it would not even come back after hibernation.. bought an ASUS broadcom based and it is wonderfull. working after restart and after hibernation

Nomader, is that with Freefone embedded into RoadRunner and without launching the Freefone section to "focus" Freefone again?

Cheers

LG U8360 compatibility

I had a play with this yesterday for the first time. My phone is a LG U8360.

Using freephone i can type in a number, dial it, hang up, and answer incoming calls.

I am having trouble though reading the phone books out of my phone.

I did a bit of a google on the AT command set, and played around with it using a serial terminal. It seems like it can read the SM phonebook, but cant read anything out of internal memory.

debug is attached. you can see the ERROR when it tries to read anything but the SM phonebook. manually requesting phone book entries on anything but the SM phonebook also fails.

Also while the SM phonebook appears to work in the debug file, it only flickers the numbers up in the freephone app, then seems to lose connection over bluetooth and reconnects to the phone. I suspect this is something to do with the cheap bluetooth dongle i am testing this with. I will be buying a better one to use in my car.

If anyone has info on interfacing to LG phones it would be appreciated!

debug:

in this debug file i have started freephone standalone, and waited for it to connect. I then hit SIM, and you can see how it loses connectivity and restarts.

I then went through ME, DC, RC, MC with a delay inbetween.

finally i dialled a number (334433443344), made a call and then hung up to show it working.

(cant seem to upload a file here - exceeded my quota??)

cdr correct me if I am wrong, but it is really the same EXE, it does not mattter if it is embedded or not.. for me it works both ways...
the strange thing is that the connection is not initiated after a restart sometimes..I have to do one of the following 2 things.
1 - double click on the DUN connection in bluetooth neighbourhood (the icon turns green) then cancel when it tries to dial.
2 - have nokia pc suite running at startup..
It seems that freefone is having trouble starting the connection to the DUN port..and needs something to say "ping it" (if i can use that term) at first..

i have heard that pc suite is trouble for most of people, but in my case it actually helps..
hope that helps, and hope i interpreted it right.

i was looking at this guys post http://www.freedrive.co.uk/forums/sh...81&postcount=2 and i thought i'd have a quick look, so created a ffbackground.jpg and tried it. the jpg acctually sits over the buttons and number key so that the only thing visible is the text from the phone book and the slider for it. if you click roughly where the number keys are you get the highlight but nothing else.

i'm guessing this is what he was on about.

cheers

hi, sorry for the no replys.. been away on a week hols.

ok..

1. freefone is hibernation aware, on hibernation it disconnects the phone, sends messages to RR to clear levels.. etc.
2. I will have a look at the dubug.txt posted above next week

It will be afew before I get round to do anything as I need to get my tax return in by the end of this month..
